Welcome to the Erie Yacht Club's Reyburn Sailing School. 2024 marks 74 years of excellence in sailing instruction. The Learn to Sail Program is open to the entire community; children ages 6-17 and adults 18 and up.

The mission of the Reyburn Sailing School is to ignite a lifelong passion and excitement for the sport of sailing. The program teaches students the basics of boat handling, seamanship, and safety. The RSS strives to develop competence and confidence in our sailors in a safe and enjoyable learning environment.

Our curriculum is designed to cater to individual skill levels, ranging from beginner to advanced racing sailors. We follow the educational guidelines set by US Sailing to ensure that our students receive quality training. Our fleet comprises of various vessels such as the Club 420, Optimist, J/22, Laser, stand-up paddleboard, and kayak. All our vessels are proven to be exceptionally safe and easy to sail or operate, making it suitable for both novice and accomplished boaters.

The staff of instructors are carefully selected for their knowledge of the sport and teaching ability. Our instructors are CPR, First Aid, and US Sailing certified. Our beginner classes meet or exceed the US Sailing recommended 6:1 student to instructor ratio.
Highly qualified staff, well maintained equipment, excellent facilities, and a well structured curriculum ensure a safe and fun learning environment for all.
