Racing Format

The Erie Dinghy Fleet will generally have a number of different classes competing on any one day, often sailing the same course at the same time, or sometimes with each class starting a few minutes apart.

Frequency: See Schedule
Course Length: 20-30 min
Number of Race: 3-4 races/night
Start Sequence: Dinghy Style 3 minute
Handicap Portsmouth Rating System (Time-on-Time)
One-Design (5 or more)

One-Design Fleets will have their own start sequence if there are 5 or more one-design class boats. However, if there are less than 10 boats participating in all fleets, the Race Committee will start both the one-design fleet and the other boats in same start sequence. This will encourage all types of centerboard and daggerboard boats to participate.
