How Do I Become and Instructor?

To become an Instructor at the Erie Yacht Club you must be a minimum of 16 yrs of age by the start of the program. All instructors must receive US Sailing Level 1, CPR, and First Aid Training prior to the start of classes. Persons born on or after January 1, 1982 must obtained and have in possession a PA Boating Safety Certificate*. Pay is commensurate with age and experience.

The program may hire a Junior Instructor or two each season. Minimum age for Junior Instructor is 15yrs. Since Junior Instructors are unable to get certified their duties will be limited.
